Todays projects is the Rueful Axe from Skyrim, but with a few changes made mainly to the handle. The friend who requested this piece will be using it on the wall of his Viking style Great Hall. We decided to make the handle longer to better balance the weight of that massive axe head and it also made the overall piece more substantial for displaying. The blade was originally sculpted in clay by my pal Robert Righter. It was then moulded and cast with resin before the paint was applied. The handled is a combination of real wood and epoxy clay that was used to make the collar pieces as well as the ringed cap at the bottom.
